At KeepBridge ("we," "us"), built by a small family team, we are committed to protecting your privacy with honesty and care. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information in our current product stage, what we can do today, and how we plan to improve.

By using KeepBridge, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect & Why (Our Purpose)

We only collect information strictly necessary to provide our core services.

Account & Contact Information (email, password hash, name)

Purpose: To create your account and fulfill our contract with you. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

Trusted Contacts' Information (names, email addresses)

Purpose: To notify them when an alert condition is met. By providing their details, you confirm you have their consent to contact them.

Location Data (GPS coordinates, IP address)

Purpose: To support your private "Trail" and provide context to trusted contacts if an Absence Alert is triggered. Shared only under the conditions you set.

User Content (messages, notes, photos, voice clips)

Purpose: To deliver the service you explicitly requested. Treated with high security and sensitivity.

Technical & Usage Data (device info, app crashes, general usage patterns)

Purpose: To diagnose issues and improve app performance and reliability.

2. How We Use Your Information

3. How We Protect Your Information (Current Measures)

We implement security measures appropriate to the sensitivity of your data and our current stage:

  • Encryption in Transit: All data sent between your app and our servers is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS).
  • Encryption at Rest: Personal data stored on our servers is protected using full-disk encryption (FDE) provided by our hosting provider.
  • Hosting Infrastructure: Our servers are hosted on a secure cloud infrastructure with enterprise-grade protection. Access is restricted through secure keys, strong passwords, and industry-standard security practices, including regular updates and monitoring.
  • Operational Security: Access to servers and databases is on a need-to-know basis.

We aim to implement additional layers of security as the service evolves, such as more granular encryption for highly sensitive content like Time Capsule entries.

4. Data Sharing: We Do Not Sell Your Data

We only share your data in limited circumstances:

  • With Your Trusted Contacts: Only when an alert condition is met.
  • With Our Service Providers: We may use third-party providers for messaging delivery; they receive only the information necessary to provide the service and are bound by strict data protection agreements.
  • For Legal Reasons: If required by law, such as in response to a valid court order.

5. International Data Transfers

Our servers are located in the United States. Personal information from users outside the U.S. may be transferred and processed in the U.S. We ensure this is done securely and in compliance with applicable laws.

6. Your Privacy Rights & Our Current Capabilities

Access & Data Export

Automated export is not yet available. If you need a copy of your data, email hello@keepbridge.app

Correction & Deletion

You can update your account info directly in the app. For deletion, a one-tap “Delete Account” option is available in the app — once confirmed, all your data is permanently erased.

Objection & Restriction

You may object to processing for direct marketing at any time. Other objections can be discussed with our team.

Work in Progress

We are developing self-serve tools for data export to make this process easier in the future.

7. Data Retention

  • Active Account Data: Retained while your account is active.
  • Upon Account Deletion: Personal data is erased immediately when you use the in-app Delete Account feature. Anonymized data may remain temporarily in backups.

8. Children's Privacy

KeepBridge is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If discovered, we delete it immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We post updates on this page. Significant changes will be notified in-app or via email.
